Infant baptisms are celebrated after the 10:00 a.m. Mass on the first and the third Sundays of the month. You must be a registered member of the SPX parish community to have your child baptized at St. Pius X. If you have questions about registration, please contact us at 614-866-2859. You may complete an online registration through our website.
This is a required class for parents and is offered on a quarterly basis, provided two or more families are preparing for the Sacrament. The class is approximately 3 hours long. Baptism should take place soon after the parent preparation class is completed. To register for this class, please call our Parish Office at 614-866-2859.
Both godparents/sponsors should be: 1) active and practicing Catholics; 2) registered members of a Catholic parish; and 3) in good standing.*
In exceptional circumstances, the parents may select one Catholic godparent, and then designate one non-Catholic Christian sponsor, as a "Christian witness."
In all cases, whether: a) there are two Catholic godparents, or b) there is one Catholic godparent and one Christian witness, one of them must be male and one must be female.
*An official letter (with the unique seal of that parish) is to be sent to St. Pius X, from the current pastor of the Catholic parish of the godparent/s, indicating that they meet the requirements specified by Church/Canon Law (as listed 1 - 3, above).
Older children are prepared for Baptism through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC) and adults are prepared through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). These Baptisms usually take place during the Easter Vigil Mass.
If you have questions about RCIC, please contact De Ann Bukowski, through the parish office: 614-866-2859.
If you have any questions regarding RCIA, please contact Deacon Joseph Lemay, at 614-866-2859 ext. 102. You may also call the parish office at 614-866-2859.
