Military Outreach Ministry to Honor St. Pius X U.S. Veterans and Active Military
Every year, Memorial Day weekend honors our men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. military. A sacred memorial, it can be easy to lose sight of its meaning and the memories that are woven into this national holiday when going from one festival or picnic to the next. The St. Pius X Military Outreach Program, coordinated by Mrs. Krista Schumacher, has a recommendation for capturing the true spirit of the holiday.

Raising Moral Kids in Today's World with Speaker Pam Heil
A recent grant awarded by The Catholic Foundation in February 2016 to St. Pius X Parish has provided monies to the parish for the development of a junior high youth ministry program and for parental workshops and programs aimed at helping parents to raise moral, faith-filled youth in an increasingly permissive society. On Sunday, January 29, 2017, St. Pius X Church will host its first event for parents by welcoming national and international speaker Pam Heil, founder of Empowered to Love Ministries and former Youth Minister at St. Brigid of Kildare Parish, Dublin, Ohio. Pam will present a workshop from 5:00-6:30 PM in the church entitled, Raising Moral Kids in Today’s World. Busy schedules and outside influences can make it challenging for parents to believe that they are valued and needed by their children. Kids need to trust that their parents will respectfully converse with them, that they will listen to their words, and will hear what is in their hearts. This session will help parents become more approachable.
